Towel City Tavern

Very nice bbq restaurant in Kannapolis. I came here for an event. The restaurant is really nice inside and outside. They have plenty of outdoor seating with great views of the ballpark. The pulled pork was nice and juicy. I also had the hush puppies and soft pretzels.

I’ve tried this restaurant a handful of times and the first time experience was perfect. We kept going, but we have recently been disappointed with the inconsistency of the quality. They are OK with the right kitchen manager, but without that, it is a normally a miss. The staff is very friendly though. If you’re going to try anything, I highly recommend you get the buffalo wings. They are to die for! They are smoked and so tender.

We found this place online. Thought we’d give it a try, we ordered the tavern platter. There were six of us. The waitress failed to tell us they were out of sausage and they didn’t bring one 1/2 of chicken until we were ready to leave. we gave a call about the sausage because they forgot to put it on the platter manager should have come out and told us, but she did not anyway they said they would give us free sausage and dessert. Next time we came in OK so we waited two weeks we thought we’d give it another try. well, we went there today on the 16th for a late lunch, they were out of sausage again, they seated us with no silverware the waiter didn’t even give us silverware. our waiter was taking our order all along while watching the race, anyway I ordered the triple play, they never brou

We went to Towel City Tavern for Restaurant Week and the food was outstanding. It’s truly a hidden gem in Kannapolis. We had the stuffed hush puppies and fried green tomatoes, followed by steak and fries and shrimp and grits—all delicious. Dessert was their banana pudding and peach cobbler, which were amazing. Our server Evie was the best—so friendly and funny, she made the experience unforgettable. We will definitely be back!

The food was Awesome! The service was great! The atmosphere is a little confusing. I like it, but it's like a very bright brewery, but trying to be an upscale restaurant. Nothing wrong I guess. Just different. Appetizer, fried Green Tomatoes. I ordered the 1/2 rack of St. Louis style ribs with a side of cheese grits! Awesome. My wife ordered the Shrimp & Grits! Awesome!
