Tortuga Inn

We are construction workers that travel indiana restoring buildings we spend a lot of time in hotels all over indiana most are not very nice even the big brands are rundown and lack nice rooms .... the tortuga inn, winamac indiana I first stayed at years ago and recently we stayed several nights a week for 8 weeks this place is the best place I've stayed in the state hands down it's comfy relaxing and in the woods the river is right there wildlife you can cookout dinner or cook in a suite and the most at home feel of anywhere I've stayed this place as a construction worker if I'm within 60 miles of this place on a job it's a no brainer to stay with Linda at the tortuga Inn winamac indiana you won't regret it no matter if your a sportsman workers or with the family or even a yuppie you wil

Amazing and unusual inn. Host Linda is an artist, and the rooms are filled with art, both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional. Breakfast is not inspired but is adequate, and the hosts gifted us with a fabulous local melon. Rooms were comfortable and clean, and the family room had a galley kitchen so we could comfortably eat our delivery pizza. Location is right on the Tippecanoe River. The goats added charm.

I’m currently staying here and it’s perfect! I’m in Winamac with a group of about 35 people. They are all staying 45 minutes away and driving to and from there every day, because there aren’t many hotels here but also because they wanted to stay somewhere nice. They paid more than double what I am and I’m 5 minutes away. I have everything I need here and it’s nice and cozy (but plenty of space). The owner has thought of everything. I was able to use self check in, the cereal, fresh bagels, snacks and fruit are available all day and night (not just in the mornings), I get to take a large to go cup of coffee of my choice every morning and it’s super peaceful and quiet. Fantastic place for an art retreat into nature! Linda and Glen are great hosts💘 and very welcoming! They had everything we needed on-site, so we could focus on our stay... it was a beautiful and inspiring space to relax and enjoy the outdoors💚 Thank you!!!

Awesome place to stay. We came in for my fathers funeral and were able to get a room for us and my son. We stayed in the Austrian and them the Egyptian rooms. Both themes were awesome. I loved the Continental breakfast, it doesn't matter what time you get up in the morning, because there's something to eat. Loved the stay, nice and quiet. Linda was awesome to deal with, thank you Linda!!! We will go back for sure.
