Tony's NY Pizza - Oakton

This is a local staple! Although we were quite disappointed today: this was a whole cheese blob that I had to cut manually each slice for my younger brothers. I wanted to surprise them with an afterschool treat but it was just a mess and very messy to eat as well. We normally go to Tony’s for all of our pizza cravings but this was just upsetting and quite disappointing to finish. Cheese was sliding everywhere and the amount of sauce just made it more of an unnecessary problem. We never had this problem before and the slices taken were not able to be finished. A refund or new credit would be greatly appreciated.

The seafood pasta was delicious and there was ample seafood in it. Three jumbo shrimp six mussels and 10 clams as well as a good amount of calamari. The sauce is delicious, tangy and just the right balance of savoriness. The steak and cheese sandwich is also delicious. We come here mainly for the steak and cheese sub and the seafood pasta. Also the baked ziti pie is pretty good. You can also get it on special every Thursdays. They have specials every day of the week. Just checked the chalkboard. We are from the Northeast and completely confused as to why anyone likes this place. We were excited when it opened--pizza by the slice! Until we tried it. I once had a pretty decent eggplant slice, but every other time we've tried the slices were old, dry with cardboard taste, scanty toppings and sauce and low quality cheese. The whole pizzas and pasta dishes are similarly of poor quality and taste. It tastes like what Italian food tasted like in the DMV 30+ years ago--ie listless cafeteria food made by people with no familiarity with actual decent Italian American food. The service is also pretty bad. I tried checking out the slices again recently (still dessicated cardboard) while waiting for an appt nearby, and the staff were all on their phones--didn't even look up when potential cu

My wife and I attended the 1st Christmas in Italy Wine Dinner at Tony’s NY Pizza in Oakton VA with 10 other special guests. Lorenzo and Anthony were our hosts for a spectacular evening of 5 specially selected wines paired with a 4 course meal. The Food selections of Antipasto - Burrata with Arugula/Heirloom Tomatoes/Extra Virgin Olive oil, Pasta - Fresh made Butternut Squash Ravioli filled w. Apple/Goat Cheese in Butter/Sage/Parmigiano Reggiano Sauce, Secondo - Braised Beef w. Red Wine/Tomato Sauce/Fresh Herbs over a Creamy Arborio Risotto, and Dessert - Cremoso Al Chocolate were all absolutely delicious! All selected foods were prepared in house by their culinary chef. In our opinion, this is the best pizzeria we have ever been in the area. Great selections for pizzas and pasta plates. Their appetizers are awesome as well. Kudos to the team. Even though they are young, the service and customer care is second to none. The food is consistently prepared and cooked, so kudos for the kitchen crew. Veterans are honored here.
