Tonio's Seafood Shack & Tiki Bar

We put Tonio's on our rotation for this trip. We were last here in 2023, and it was definitely a 5, but I may have forgotten to write that review. Natasha was our server and sat us at one of our favorite tables. The weather was gorgeous, and Natasha was a joy. We ordered melon balls and Kani salad. This was the best version of Kani we have ever had; it had real crab meat! Every other restaurant where we have ordered Kani, including Japanese restaurants, uses faux crab. This was amazing! Thursday is Tonio's sushi day, which I would love to try, but I always order grouper. We ordered the grouper sandwich and the fried lobster tail sandwich. Both were fresh, juicy, and delectable. Great outdoor seafood shack. We visit everytime we are here and least once. Kid friendly. Several tv's especially for football and sports games. Staff is always on point, food is delicious. The only downside is they allow smoking and vaping but I don't feel they should be deducted stars because the experience is great!

When you travel alone, you look for safe places with hospitality. You want people to make you feel safe. Thank you Natasha and Bridget for your attention and the details and respect you have for your workplace. Sharing your favorite dishes making me feel comfortable in a situation where single diners are not always welcome was refreshing. This is the kind of place you look for in the Florida Keys. I suggest you go there now. It's the best time of all because it's not crowded as much by tourists, but gives you an opportunity to experience our local flair. Post after note, the employers of these people should know they are part of the experience. We were there on football Sunday and the “non-denominational” spirit was alive and well. They offered two different stuffed pepper apps on the menu and we ordered both (only got one pic) - DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!! The tuna tower was ok. The bartenders were very polite, even tho they had their hands full with the locals. Will definitely be back!

We got there just after they opened. Got a table right by the water. The food was fantastic and so fresh! If we’re back in the keys in the future, we will be back! Absolutely delicious!
