Toast Gretna

This place was a very nice little walk from our hotel. The places was lively and clean, staff was very friendly, prices were reasonable. Our waitress was very attentive and took excellent care of us. I got the ratatouille (I had never seen it on a menu before so I Had to get it) which was very delightful. My kiddo got the banana and Nutella crepes. She wiped em out. I'm a huge sweet tea fan, so good sweet tea is very important to me. I was able to try it before I committed to ordering it. It was a very good sweet tea. We will be in town for a good little while. I look forward to going back.

This place has a sister restaurant up the road called Hen House. I was recommended here to Toast Gretna by the owners and workers from Hen House because they shut down restaurant operations to fully support their King Cake Operation. Awesome little homey restaurant with very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect brunch spot for the morning and early afternoon. I ordered black coffee and the ratatouille omelette with a side of bacon. It was delicious. Next time i am gonna try the steak and eggs on their entrees menu. Everything was reasonably priced. Dining room was well lit and clean. Unisex bathroom with changing table for the little ones was also clean! Cant wait to come back!

I've spent the last nearly 2 weeks eating all the wish list places I've heard about from family since I was a child (I'm staring right at 60 so, a long time). This is The Best Meal I Have Had In The Area. I was looking at the French Quarter because I'll be down there today looking up family records and this place snuck into my listings. I'm old and disabled so parking, check. Not a massive wait, check. Unique menu with things you don't see on literally every menu around town? Check check check. I got the catfish and eggs with grits. No cheese because in my family it was butter and pepper if you didn't want a look so withering you tried to sink into the floor. The tarragon sauce was perfect and light and the eggs were beautifully cooked and the grits needed no butter. Buttery and creamy

Everything was fabulous. Service, food and atmosphere. We had ableskivers, a side of grits and the Benedict. They were all delicious. Don't skip over this place, you won't regret it. #neworleansbreakfast

I’ve been to Toast twice now—once for brunch with my boyfriend on a Friday and again with a friend the following Monday—and both experiences were great! I had the Fried Crawfish Toast both times (it’s that good!) and loved the flavorful sauce that comes with it. On my second visit, I also tried the banana Nutella crepe, which was delicious and the perfect sweet treat to end brunch. The outdoor seating area is definitely my favorite spot to sit and relax. It has a fun, casual vibe, and there’s even a playground if you’re bringing kids along. Tasty food, a comfortable atmosphere, and great for both a date or catching up with friends.
