Timber Baron Inn

This beautiful gem nestled just 1/2 mile down the road from Big Top Chautauqua was our home for the past 4 nights. On the surface it is exceptionally clean, well appointed and the view is breathtaking as you sip your morning coffee. But deep down at the heart of it, a young family runs this and lives in the quarters attached. We loved hearing the laughter of their children and were delighted to meet them when the dad brought down coffee on our last morning. You can tell they take pride in providing the best experience for all their guests and pay attention to the little details that all add up. They also own North Coast Coffee in Washburn which I also highly recommend. The location is great if you are looking to do things anywhere from Washburn to Bayfield and the surrounding areas. It is

Great rooms, but the breakfast is not acceptable--granola bars and pop tarts. I would get a better breakfast at any hotel chain. Most people expect more from a b&b at this price. At least provide some fresh pastry or bread!

We loved our stay at the Timber Baron Inn. The inn is beautiful and nestled away in the woods with a view of Lake Superior. Our room was comfortable, complete with a mini fridge and table and chairs overlooking the grounds. We enjoyed the light breakfast items and coffee each morning. Although we had some rain on this trip, it was relaxing to play a game of Scrabble with a glass of wine in the beautiful great room. Thank you for a wonderful stay in your home/inn.

We stayed 3 nights. The Inn was immaculate and welcoming. It was out of town, quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was granola and protein bars, pop tarts, instant oatmeal, yogurt and oranges. I expected more from a Bed & Breakfast.

Well appointed, private rooms, very clean and comfortable with superb views. Spacious, yet cozy, common room. On site hosts, attentive and unobtrusive. Would recommend to family/friends. Continental breakfast because owners have growing family, still common room has stocked fridge, microwave, keurig with full selection and real cups, also dishes and utensils for bringing in food. Suggest Manypenny Bistro in Mayfield and Coco - Artisan Bakery & Good Eats in Washburn. We were celebrating our golden anniversary and splurged on Apostle Island Sightseeing Cruise out of Mayfield Marina, so much better than hiking with mosquitos and ticks.
