Bodin Fisheries

Came to Bayfield and Madeline Island October 18th for my birthday. I was looking for a good place for fresh and smoked fish. After walking around a bit I saw one place but it was closed. I then went here since it was open. So happy I did! I bought fresh & smoked lake trout. Both were impressive! Service was wonderful! I told the gentleman I was touring the area for the day and was so kind to keep my fish refrigerated there until I was done with my day or pack it in ice in my car. So thoughtful and helpful. He made me feel welcome to the area. The smoked fish was great watching the Packers win the next day. I'm definitely coming back to Bayfield and will definitely come back there again.

We love smoked fish and while in town we had to stop and pick some up. We were in the neighborhood and so we randomly stopped at this location. It was sooooo cute inside, with a nice fish counter and some things to compliment fish. The guy at the counter was friendly (told us the product had been smoked that day), efficient, and helpful. We ordered a pound of the sugar cured whitefish and half a pound of the sugar cured salmon. After getting them home and trying them, we thought both were delicious. We particularly liked the salmon— the sugar cure was complimentary to the fish but not too sweet. Also, the pricing was superb. We paid less than $20 for 1.5 lbs of smoked fish!! We would definitely stop and pick up fish again at Bodin the next time we are in town!!

Great store and really helpful people! Filled my cooler with ice, to keep the fish i bought cool and safe! The smoked fish itself is amazing. Thank you!

A little family owned (or so it seemed) fishing shop! Customer service was very pleasant (some small little ones helping out)! Fish was cheap compared to fish around other places. Parking can be difficult, but recommend parking down by the marina/playground if it's busy as it is a short walk!

Great cajun smoked salmon and maple salmon. The trout is also delicious. The staff was also welcoming and informative. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.
