I just had the best time at Thymári Mediterranean Gastro Tavern for a special Greek birthday celebration, and I have to share how amazing it was! From the moment we got there, the vibe was so welcoming and lively, making it the perfect spot for our gathering. The real star of the show was definitely the food! The chef whipped up some incredible dishes that screamed authentic Greek flavors. Oh MY. My husband surprised me and made reservations for my birthday. I had no idea what to expect. The warm, earthy aesthetic is just the beginning of this amazing experience. The hospitable nature of the owners eased the process of ordering . We started with MEZZE PLATTER , CALAMARI, and FRIED KEFALOTIRI. Every bite was as delicious as the last. Our entrees were phenomenal. We Ordered the CHICKEN SOUVLAKI , PORK SOUVLAKI , LAMB SHANK , GNOCCHI FORMAGGIO. Tender and cooked to perfection . Every ingredient captures the essence of Greek cuisine . The desserts were to die for . We ordered MILLE - FEUILLE GALAKTO-BURIKO, KORMO. This family owned restaurant not only exceeded our expectations, they hands down are the best Greek Cuisine in South Jersey

Ok, so let me tell you...Thymari was MUCH needed in this area. The call was answered, and who better to make it happen than two people who have spent their lives in the restaurant business and are passionate about Greek food! First, the place looks amazing! I love the simplicity of it. The tables were spacious and warm. The chairs were so comfortable, you could sit in them for hours. From the unique plates to the flatware. Every detail was thought out, and it shows. Now to the food. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. Every bite of every dish was delicious. We were a table of 8 and ordered 4 appetizers. Now, typically, appetizers are a bit disappointing in restaurants because they never give you enough. Not here. There was MORE than enough to go around for 8 people. We ordered the Zucch

Absolutely wonderful! We were in the mood for something different and spotted Thymari on OpenTable. It had really great reviews and the menu looked interesting so we decided to try it. I’m so glad we did! The atmosphere is modern, but very warm and inviting. Although it is a BYOB, they also sell bottles of wine from a local winery; we purchased a red pinot and it paired perfectly with our food. We started with the Mezze Platter and Thymari Salad, both of which were so fresh and flavorful. For entrées we ordered Moussaka and The Seven Seas. I couldn’t eat the Moussaka due to of an allergy, but my dining partner could not stop talking about it. He said that he would eat it off a shoe if that was on top of it! We had an incredible Mediterranean dining experience at Thymari Mediterranean Gastro-Taverna in Swedesboro, NJ! The food was absolutely delicious—authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented. From start to finish, the service was outstanding, and the warm, rustic atmosphere truly transported us to the heart of the Mediterranean. The photos speak for themselves! This is a hidden gem that we’ll definitely be returning to. Highly recommend for anyone looking for real Mediterranean cuisine in the Swedesboro area!
