Thelma's Restaurant

We ordered two three-choice plates. I got mine with pancit, dinuguan, and Thelma’s special, plus another plate to share. We also got a side of Shanghai lumpia and adobo fried rice. The prices were extremely reasonable for the huge portions. I couldn’t even finish my plate and still had half left to take home! The food tasted homey and comforting, like a real home-cooked meal. The adobo fried rice was flavorful and the lumpia was crispy and tasty. There was no wait, and everything came out fresh and hot. Definitely a place I’d come back to for delicious Filipino comfort food and generous portions!

I ordered the lechon special almost at their closing time. Is it supposed to be crunchy? because I kept looking for soft meats but couldn't find one. It seemed like they gave me scraps or the old meat. It's disappointing because I wasn't feeling well already and was looking forward to eat this. The older staff was rude as well.

Today Sunday October 5,2025 was our very first time eating at the restaurant. My little family decided to eat here after church because of the reviews I seen on TikTok. Let’s just say WE WERE ALL VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!! Not only did the food we ordered not have any flavor or love put into it but our waitress was very RUDE and her facial expressions didn’t help. She’s a brown haired short ponytailed woman. I was patient when I asked her for Halo Halo being all our first time trying it. She looked disgusted like why am I ordering it?!. We will NOT BE RETURNING AND WILL TELL OTHERS of our bad experience. We like Pilipino food but will once again as I stated, not returning to this poorly, discriminating restaurant. Coming from Colorado, there is no Filipino establishments and made me miss my family’s cooking back in NJ. This is the closest it’s been to having a home cooked meal! This was some one the best Filipino food I’ve had at a restaurant!

This is and has been my favorite Filipino restaurant for a long time. This is one of those hole-in-the-wall and not-so-great decor but the food makes up for it in spades. They are know for their Thelma's Special which is their version of Lechon Kawali. Crispy pork, tomatoes, and onions tossed in their special sauce. It's a guilty since as its a fatty dish, which I like to call a heart attack special. S00000 GOOD! Pretty much all the food I have had here is great from adobo fried rice, Thelma's special, sari sari, pancit, Gizantes, etc. I used to be a regular when I lived near by, but now I am a townie. So now a days I sometimes go out of my way just to go here because it's so good. Highly recommended.
