The Wooden Spoon Kitchen and Bakery

My first ever PBJ hamburger and it was delicious. Sweet tea was great, too. We had a work meeting and it was easy to conduct business. Staff was super friendly. My drink never sat empty. Baked goods looked amazing.

They make a great chicken fried steak! All the food is great. It is the go to spot for me and my wife. The service is friendly and helpful. They are a local business and we love to support our local small business folks! Well worth a drive to La Porte to get a fresh made meal.

If they are open, just go. This place has homemade desserts, southern fare, and a wonderful small town atmosphere. They stay busy and there is a reason for it. We had the fried green tomatoes, cooked to perfection, a chicken fried steak plate, and a fried chicken sandwich. Out of this world good! Quaint setting with top notch service. Then finish with a freshly prepared homemade dessert. It's worth the trip for sure.

I had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely amazing—every dish was full of flavor and so tasty. Our server was incredibly nice and very helpful, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. To top it off, the owner came out personally to greet us, which made the visit feel extra welcoming and special. Great food, warm hospitality, and an overall fantastic atmosphere—I’ll definitely be coming back!

This place was amazing. The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. The chicken fried steak was not all batter like many other places, the meat was delicious. The onion rings were amazing as well. I can't wait to go back. A++++++
