The William Smith Inn

We had a wonderful stay at the William Smith Inn. Absolutely gorgeous historic stately home. Spotlessly clean, ample parking, great location, nice and quiet, safe neighborhood. Maureen and James are fabulous hosts (AND fellow Canadians...eh!). Super accomodating and friendly with great tips for the area. Breakfast was amazing every day with homemade pastries, fruit and special creations each morning. You can really tell that Maureen and James have the gift of hospitality. To top it off, Walter and Larry are the best B&B Puppy Hosts too!!! Highly recommended and we would definitley stay when we are in the area again.

My husband and I stayed at the William Smith Inn for a weekend getaway to celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary, and it was absolutely wonderful. Maureen and James, the owners, are the best hosts—warm, friendly, and always ready with great tips about the region. They go above and beyond to create an exceptional experience for their guests. The Inn itself is more than 100 years old, full of charm and character. We love old architecture, and this house is not only beautiful but also comfortable, quiet, and ideally located near town. The wraparound porch, surrounded by trees, is the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful breakfast. We stayed at the William Smith Inn for our first experience in Geneva with a group of close friends. Located on Castle St just up the hill from downtown, the Inn made an ideal base camp for excursions in the area. James and Maureen are wonderful hosts and people, full of fun stories, local lore, and a wealth of recommendations for things to see and do. I have a soft spot for beautiful, restored homes and was impressed at the upgrades to transform this piece of history into a B&B. The private bathroom was spacious and modern; the bed was super comfortable. The room has a nice cross breeze which probably does the trick for most summer evenings (but our weekend was quite hot, so we succumbed to the AC unit to reach a preferred chill for sleeping!). Maureen and James, owners of the William Smith Inn, are hands-down our favorite B&B hosts ever! We've stayed at the Inn so many times that I've lost count. The welcoming atmosphere makes us feel like family, and we enjoy their recommendations for fun wineries, breweries, and distilleries every single stay. The breakfasts, whether on the charming porch or in the stunning dining room, are top notch. The hosts have even helped me pull off a 50th surprise gathering for my husband during our most recent stay. I highly recommend staying at the William Smith Inn and have sent many friends here over the past several years. You'll keep coming back, guaranteed!

Such a great experience! My first time at a B&B and it set the bar HIGH! First, the comfort of the house was lovely, the hosts were incredible and just wait until you have some of Maureen’s sweet treats for breakfast! Felt very safe and easy access to get everywhere on the Finger Lakes within a decent amount of time! Well worth it!! Can’t wait to go back!
