The Walnut Kitchen

My husband and I live locally and are trying new-to-us restaurants for the next 15 days in celebration of our 15th wedding anniversary. Today we had a later lunch at The Walnut Kitchen. We shared a Philly cheese steak and onion rings. Large cheese steak was plenty for two people. Cooked to perfection...very tender and tasty. Our server was attentive and friendly. Plenty of parking at the time we arrived around 2pm as well as plenty of open seating given the hour. We will definitely return and likely try dinner when in Maryville next.

I'm not sure why it took me so long to give this restaurant a try, but I finally did it... those bao buns are flipping great. The dry age rib eye with compound butter was very good, the dessert was also very well put together, though the name escapes me, and the drinks were on point. An overall great experience. I'll definitely be back. Nice work to that whole WK team🍻

I prefer local places over franchises and this is one we love. For the most part everything is amazing. One of our faves to order is onion rings with their in-house made honey mustard. I promise you won't regret them. This photo is their grain bowl which I get almost every time and I just love it.

Shane and I went there for the first time for our wedding anniversary last week. We fell in love with this place! The atmosphere is cozy, the staff was super friendly and we love the decor and use of an old building. We sat at the bar instead of table and both the bartenders were great. For food we got the chicken lollipops (which could be a whole meal!), fresh fettuccine, mac and cheese and the chicken cordone Bleu. Let me tell you what, that was the best food we've had in Maryville. At the very end of our meal, they brought us out a surprise, complimentary cheesecake brownie dessert because the ladies behind the bar had heard us saying it was our anniversary. Are the prices higher than what you're probably used to? Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely! They make good food. We'll definitely be

This place is nothing short of amazing. Such unique and designed dishes that take your tastebuds into oblivion. We had the pork belly and it was delicious! Even the fatty part and that says a lot! We had the lobster dip and I could have drenched all my food in it. I couldn’t get enough. My 12 year old had the lobster ramen and left nothing! He loved it. My daughter had the chicken lollipops and said the breading and flavor was perfect. I had the steak frites and the flavor was amazing too. My husband had the elk loin and he was basically licking the plate. The atmosphere what great and service was knowledge and top tier. Best chef and kitchen crew around. Looking forward to an adult only getaway for another dinner! We will travel from Illinois for this establishment any time!!!!
