Lauren - you are a rock star!! We had a fabulous dinner, from start to finish. We were greeted with smiles and sat immediatley. We arrived at sunset so we missed what we are certain would have been a spectacular view. (Already planning our next dinner there!) We started with the suggested dishes from Lauren: house made focaccia bread with their house made maple butter, along with roasted garlic and ricotta spread. FABULOUS!! The maple butter was not overly sweet, just perfect. The roasted garlic and ricotta were the absolute best pairing with the soft, delicious focaccia bread! I also followed Laurens recommendation and had the lobster corn chowder. So good! The chunks of fresh lobster, creamy corn and potatoes - all blended so nicely. I could have had this and the bread for a m

During our stay at the Cliff House, we dined here twice for dinner. The wait staff was excellent on both occasions—attentive, friendly, and consistent. In fact, the service throughout the hotel was impressive, especially considering we visited during the off-season in November. Unfortunately, the food did not match the quality of the service. The French soups were excellent and one of the highlights of the menu, as was the focaccia bread appetizer. The braised short rib was another bright spot—flavorful, though on the smaller side. Other dishes were less successful. The mushroom rigatoni was average; not bad, but nothing memorable. The Caesar salad was a miss—served as an uncut half head of lettuce, which made it awkward and unappealing. I wouldn’t recommend ordering it. The pork chop w

Celebratory brunch! Mid week, late fall. Quiet for brunch. Awesome views. Classically subdued nautical themed decor. Food is plated beautifully (esp the deconstructed Caesar salad). Service was amazing (but it was relatively empty). The food was good. We had root veg Benedict, short rib beef hash and the short rib beef fusilli. Desserts are portioned to share. Nov 2025.

The Tiller Restaurant at The Cliff House is a great way to explore Cliff House if you can’t stay the night. We went for lunch last week and it was a rainy and gray afternoon. We tried to get a window table, but all were in use. The host did a good job at getting us the next best table, and my friend and I sat side by side so we could look out the windows. Even on a gray day, it was still a great view of the ocean. I got the Wagyu Burger and truffle fries, and it did not disappoint. My friend got the beet and salmon salad, and she had no complaints. We split the Maine Blueberry Patisserie, and it was very tasty. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. We explored the hotel and grounds after lunch and what an amazing place! I would love to stay a night next summer and take a

Great view, but breakfast menu does not do a good job describing what you are going to get. The açaí bowl is melted and mixed with yogurt. The French toast is not stuffed with dulce, simply has a few dollops on the plate which is not enough to prevent the toast from being quite dry. Orange juice seems pressed but was sour. Great server. I’d go back but with better expectations.
