Customer Reviews
Great view of the coastline from above. Got a beer and mussels with chorizo, which I thought was an odd mix but was a good and well portion for 1-3 people. Overall it's worth a trip, arrive before 3pm rush and order your drinks and meal at the back bar counter.
Incredible, picturesque view of the sunset and incoming boats. Fun bar and deck/patio setup. Highly recommend if you and some friends just want drinks and sides. For the restaurant side, you bring your order to the register and pay beforehand (?) like a mall food court. 4 small, thin slices of watermelon for $6, elote for $10, or poké bowls that charge extra for fish was laughable to us. Probably just means we aren’t part of the usual Block Island goers more than anything else. We were seated several tables away from everyone and saw the wait staff just enough to get through the meal service in a nearly empty restaurant. Not vibing with this place
My bf & I went here a couple of times during our visit to BI & every time was great! Our favorite meal was the surf burger & fries. We also had the Caesar salad which was delicious & my bf had the lobster roll which he also enjoyed! The view is always the best & the vibes are awesome. The Surf is one of our favorite restaurants on the island.
The view was amazing. But the food was subpar. We got the Ceviche and Roasted Chicken. The chicken was bland and was a small portion. Only decent thing were the beans that accompanied it. Then the ceviche was mediocre, it just tasted like tomato juice. And the avocado didn't taste or feel like avocado, just a weird paste. Food doesn't have to be conventional, i get it, but the execution isn't it, especially for the price.
Sat on the back deck of the restaurant with a beautiful view of the beach. The food was good, and reasonably priced. The only issue i had was with the the lack of friendliness from the bartender and food runner. No smile, no greeting when we approached the bar to place our food and drink order - even though i said " hi, how are you? After thanking the bartender for our drinks and paying our bill along with a good tip - we did not receive a response. I receiving the wrong side dish with my meal and asked the girl to please replace it. A quick "sorry about that" would have sufficed. Instead the girl gave me a look like I asked her to donate one of her kidneys and walked away. She did not respond. Just walked away. Waited a while, and I was just about to get up to go get it myself-
