Let me preface by saying this is a great store in downtown. They have a lot of quality products including groceries, clothing, kitchenware, and a solid wine selection. BUT they have some of the most unfriendly staff, I always feel like an unwelcome burden when I'm in their grocery and deli areas. They have the BEST sandwiches (better than Pickles in both flavor and price) but even with the simple order form, I feel like I'm bothering the deli with my order (specifically, the two older women who work there), if the sandwiches weren't so good, I wouldn't bother just to avoid the brief but always unpleasant social interaction. I've been coming to the Star Store since the 70s, and it's always fun to see what's new. It's partially a grocery store, and partially a clothing/kitchen/home/gift store. There's always so much temptation in this place! The staff are helpful, too. The only drawback is that, in the clothing/kitchen part of the store, it can easily get crowded with people.
