The Sportsman at Melrose

What a great addition to an amazing Island! The owners are fantastic. The location is beautiful and well appointed with an almost elegant yet charming atmosphere. The bathrooms are very nice and extremely clean. The owners have even created an interactive map of the island with ideal picture locations and historic sites.They have a pool table and a couple of dart boards. The food is your standard bar food but well thought out and prepared. We had the nachos which are made with 2 types of cheese and then toasted, the wings were tender & spicy and well cooked, the philly cheese steak was surprisingly good, the pizza sub is exactly what you would expect and that's not a bad thing. They have a wide selection of food choices and full bar. The beer selection is good and it's all reasonably price

Our first night here we got some takeout from this pub and the food was amazing. We only did take out because we wanted to explore the island. The next day we came back for lunch. This is a great little place on the island. There's pool tables and outdoor type games. There is tons of seating and lots of different options. You can sit at a table or on the couch, you can go outside. The food itself was phenomenal. I'm originally from Pennsylvania and I got a Philly cheese steak that was actually a Philly cheese steak. I mean it is the closest I've had since growing up. I absolutely love the food love just sitting inside and relaxing, and when you do go outside the view is beautiful.

We had a great time on our most recent visit! The team is so much fun and the karaoke did not disappoint. We ended up enjoying our last night there for dinner, which was excellent) and then checkers by the fire. It is such a fun and great atmosphere!

Got food here twice during our stay on Daufuskie for the marathon. This was the closest place to our abnb to get food so we gave it a shot and we all thought the food was great. The cheese steak was fantastic and my son raved about the crunch wrap. If we find ourselves on Daufuskie again we'll be sure to come back.

Made to order, extremely pleasant, food was really good! I expected something sort of basic for this island and it was way WAY better than I expected! Horses are an added lovely bonus. Side note: cook’s playlist was wide ranging and wonderful! Very glad we rented the golf cart and made the trip. Definitely make this part of your trip!!!
