Frye’s Corner

I'm not sure anything I say will do this place justice. We heard about it, tried it, and glad we found it on the first day they were open the week we were here. It will be our lunch stop the rest of the week. We had chicken, shrimp, hush puppies, and the best onion rings I have ever ate my entire life which pretty much applies to everything else as well. If you are on Daufuskie Thursday, Friday, or Saturday this is a must stop. Trust me you will not regret it.

We are visiting Dafuskie Island for the day. We stopped in at the mercantile and asked Beth about things to do here on the Island. She got a gleam in her eye and explained like we had won the lottery that “Fryes chicken is open today “. Well we headed out and found this little chicken shack and what a dining experience it is!! Three chicken strips would feed a large family. Biggest I’ve ever seen. The fried are hand cut and fried to perfection. However that were running low on fries so they offered half and half with onion rings. I’ve pretty much quit buying onion rings as they are usually right out of the freezer bag. But these were AWESOME! If we ever get back to Dafuskie this place will be top of the list of places to visit. The couple that own/run the place are super nice as well. Do

First time to Daufuski. Woman at the golf cart rental told us this is a great place to eat lunch. Great location. Easy to order. Just enough seating...picnic tables. Very limited menu...fresh chicken tenders, hand breaded...or...chicken wings. We all had the tenders. Huge...hot and tasty. Fries and onion rings were great. $15 for each box. Includes a bottled water. We were also the last order of fries for the day. They have other drinks and sides. Only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

We stopped in here for a quick bite today and all I can say is wow! What a wonderful treat! Freshly breaded chicken strips, hand-made onion rings and French fries- even beer and soda available to buy. Go earlier than you think you should as they do run out of food since everything is fresh.

A great place to have lunch when you are on Daufuskie Island. A little hard to find if you are new to the area but ask the locals they are friendly and helpful. Lots of carr parking and some picnic tables or take out and eat at home. We had Chicken and fries and shrimp and fries. Both were delicious. The chicken was crispy with a spicy blend. Shrimp was also crispy coated and well cooked and had a great flavour. Fries were fresh made. Bottled water was ice cold. Super friendly and happy to see you. Lots of cart parking.
