The Soda Bar by Van Horn's Cookies (Fountains)

Stopped by The Soda Bar for a midday lunch and was really impressed. The food was fresh and flavorful with a soup and sandwich combo that hit the spot. They have an awesome selection of drinks and the staff made it feel like a true local favorite. Josh the owner was welcoming as it was my first time here. Always good supporting a small business that puts care into what they do. I will definitely be back.

We had such an amazing experience here! Josh and his wife are the owners, and you can truly feel the love they put into this place. Josh took the time to share their backstory with us, which made the visit even more special. He was incredibly kind and welcoming, and he went out of his way to make my boyfriend feel celebrated on his birthday. The energy, the kindness, and the care they show their customers is rare and so appreciated. This isn’t just an ice cream and soda cookie shop — it’s a place built on heart. We’ll definitely be back and recommending it to everyone!

The ice cream is delicious and is generously served. I was surprised that prices are comparable to that of any other ice cream place, but with such a *chill* atmosphere (pun intended). Pros: Local icecream place. In the pictures, I got the Buckeye Sundae, which was delicious. The ice cream was good, the make-up of the Sundae was good. Again, what was great was the portions and the simple peanut butter, vanilla, and chocolate flavors. Cons: the water bottle was more than a dollar. That was my only con. Now, it would be easy to think that nepotism could get in the way of my reviews. Alas, your thoughts would be foiled because the owner and I are of very different Van Horn families. Service was amazing and ice cream was INCREDIBLE. Sampled the banana pudding and praline pecan and so yummy. I ended up getting a signature coffee ice cream milkshake with chocolate covered expresso beans in it and it was UH-MAZING.

Delicious! First time trying this place. Customer service was amazing. The owner was very sweet and helpful, he explained everything and gave us the best options based on what we liked. Can’t wait to come back!
