Bravo! Enjoyed an incredible meal at The Smoking Goat last night. We went during Restaurant Week and chose the three course menu with an extra item Hand-Cut Duckfat Truffle Fries. We started with the tartare which was outstanding. The second course was duck l’orange with vegetables and potatoes and it was absolutely off the charts. We finished with a crème brûlée that was perfectly done. The bartender was fantastic before we were seated, the staff was attentive throughout, and the entire place had a great vibe. One of the best meals I have had in a long time.
Our trip to San Diego had "The Smoking Goat" as our top restaurant destination and it lived up to all the positive reviews. We started off with the flavorfull octopus appetizer. My son and I had the pork dishes with vegetables and mashed potatoes, which was the perfect amount of food, even for an 18 year old teenager. We could not leave without sharing a desert, which was the Cream Brulee, and it was perfect way to end dining experience. Service was top notch from Jordan, Dylan and Alex. Looking forward to coming back again soon
The food was impeccable and the service was top notch! We went as a group and did shared appetizers. The octopus was some of the best I’ve ever had and the duck l’orange was amazing. Our server never let our glasses go dry and gave great suggestions.
Came here for restaurant week, very good food options and the portions are bigger than we thought, we are five ladies and definitely plenty for every one of us. Really like the Baked Brie, has roasted pistachio and cranberry, sweet with brie cheese, really nice. Also like the tartare, really good with the bread.
Came here for restaurant week and was sadly disappointed. The escargot lost all its flavor in the butter and herb sauce it was drenched in. Didn't pair well with the bread it was served with. My porkchop had good flavor but was on the dry side. The mashed potatoes it rested on were very bland. The goat cheese cheesecake was the best thing I ate here. Fluffy and creamy, decadent. Service was slow and disorganized unfortunately. My server was pleasant but not very attentive. I came when it was not so busy as well. I spent 100 dollars on this meal and was hoping for more.
