The Smoke Pit

From my view, this is one of the best barbeque restaurants in North Carolina! This was the second time I visited this particular location (out of currently 5 location), and it did not disappoint. This is a North Carolina-based chain offering a diverse menu including pork, chicken and turkey in addition to all the side items you can possibly think. My wife and I went for the chicken wings, the chicken thighs and the turkey with hush puppies, sweet potato casserole, coleslaw and the barbeque beans. Everything was delicious! We walked in for dinner, and the service was excellent, and we did not have to wait at all for a table. This particular location is accessible and it has its own free parking lot with plenty of spaces. Overall, 100% recommended.

Now I have found the best restaurant bbq ribs. Nicely smoked fall off the bone tenderness. They DO have fried okra. The banana pudding will make you slap somebody so bring some power (haha). Service hands down great. Them youngsters were pulling orders left and right and done it with a great attitude. Atmosphere is very welcoming & family oriented so if you have kids they’d surely love it too. Oh yeah, and the sweat tea was refreshing It’s evenly priced. I 100% would recommend 👍🏾

A new customer for life! The portions are huge, the price is fair, and the flavors are amazing. I was definitely skeptical of the greens and Mac & cheese because I have HIGH standards for them. I was not only blown away by the texture, smells, and flavors I was taken back to my youth. It was like I was in my mom's and grandma's kitchen. I'm glad I have leftovers and look forward to eating there again!!!

I was already having a very difficult day—feeling physically unwell and emotionally drained—and I decided to treat my family to a 3-choice meal in hopes of a little comfort. Instead, I was met with food that was barely edible and service that was frankly soul-crushing. ​The Meal Quality: ​The Cornbread: It wasn’t just overdone; it was burnt black and so hard it was impossible to eat. ​The Chicken: Both portions were undercooked, clearly old, and lacked even a grain of salt. It had absolutely no flavor. ​The Brisket: It was incredibly dry, chewy, and tough to bite through. ​The Lack of Service: What hurt the most, however, was how I was treated when I calle

I love this place. This is the second spot of Smoke Pit I've visited and it's great. The food was delicious and the portions are plentiful. There's plenty of seating. The restaurant is very clean and inviting. The food is fresh and good quality. We will continue to visit this chain. Best BBQ in NC so far.
