The Simon at Reston Station

I have been to The Simon twice with the same dining companion, and both times the service and food was top notch. The first time we visited was not too long after the JW opened, so I thought that perhaps everything was perfect due to the new staff, equipment, light level of patrons, but then we went back this week and it was even better. Typically, I find that higher end. Restaurants within a hotel are not as good as restaurants that are freestanding. I feel that without the mandatory foot traffic most hotel restaurants would not do well on their own due to average food and inflated prices. The Simon is VERY different from that. Decor and ambiance were great and align with the JW Marriott brand. The wait staff were very knowledgeable about the menu and suggestions. My water was always filled and they swapped utensils for fresh ones between each course. The experience started with a basket of asorted breads and homemade butter with flake salt. Each of us also received an amushbush which was a small tart filled with very fruit compote and Camembert. We agreed that it needed a little less Camembert because it overpowered the fruit and it was really all you tasted. The presentation of the entrées and desserts was absolutely beautiful. Had an amazing dinner at The Simon. The restaurant looks beautiful with a great bar and interior. The drinks were excellent—we tried the Veranda and Lake Anne Smoke cocktails. The Carolina Gold Rice Risotto was my favorite. Great service and a wonderful experience overall.

Had an amazing dinner at the Simon thanks to Chef Tony and the other incredible staff! From the moment we checked in until we paid the check, every person we encountered was awesome! All of our dishes were a 10/10 and the bread was the best we’ve both ever had hands down. Just an all around amazing meal! Would recommend the Simon to everyone.

Came to this cool new place on New Years Eve and it was one of the best experiences in a while for us. Not only the service and staff were phenomenal the food was on the next level. The beautiful arrangement, amazing flavors, interesting menu items and dessert from another world. Seriously, Cuban Cigar dessert is a must! I think my own favorite items were the cheese sample we got, the chickpeas fries, wild mushroom side along with the puree, with Tomahawk for 2! I think looking at how everyone was at the place made it that much better, the attention, the friendliness and professionalism were superb. Our new favorite place for very special dinners, is now here!
