The Red Bird Hot Chicken & Fries Reston

I ordered the Chicken Cheese Fries—hot chicken over fries with cheese, pickles, and Red's Famous Big Bird Sauce. I will admit, I was a little nervous because loaded fries can sometimes be way too saucy, but this one had the perfect balance. I went with mild heat, but next time, I'm definitely bumping it up to medium or hot. Hubby ordered the chicken sandwich with fries, and went bold with the hot heat level. Surprisingly, he spice wasn't overpowering at all—you could still clearly taste all the ingredients, which I really appreciated. The slaw in the sandwich deserves a special shoutout—so fresh and crunchy that we ended up ordering an extra side because it complemented everything perfectly. I love a good chicken sandwich and this one is halal so I was extra excited to try this place! Red bird is located in the shopping between a nail salon and hair salon. There are 6 tables, each seating four guests. The cashier was very polite, assisting me with my choices and helping me understand heat levels. The chicken sandwich is on a yummy bun (potato bun?) dressed with a crunchy veggie slaw which is really good. It's not as spicy as Hangry Joe's (where you have to sign a waiver to order the hottest level) so feel free to lean into the spice!

This is my favorite place to get lunch in the area I work. Hands-down, best hot chicken in the area, super affordable, and great service. These are not just regular chicken tenders sprinkled with seasoning after they’re cooked like you get at Hangry Joe’s. The chicken is super flavorful, large pieces, and these are the only crinkle fries I actually enjoy (they’re crisp, not soggy, and seasoned well). Mo is the man, and runs a great restaurant. The sauces are legit, and I just tried the toffee cake for the first time today, it’s the bomb. Don’t think about it, just go, you won’t regret it

I was thoroughly pleased with Red 🟥 Bird 🐔. The food was above ⬆️ average, not exceptional, but definitely decent. I got the extra spicy 🌶️ sandwich and it was certainly spicy but nothing I couldn't handle. What really stood out to me at this establishment was the portion size and quantity per dollar. In this day and age, there's almost nothing like it!! It was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL value!!! I got two large sliders and a side of fries 🍟 for only like $13. That was crazy 🤪. I also got a bunch of sauces on the side, and those enhanced the taste 😋 even more. If you're talking about value for your chicken sandwich, this is 100% one of the best in the business!!

Red Bird Hot Chicken knows what they’re doing! The chicken sandwiches and nuggets were unreal—tender, juicy, basically melted like butter. Seasoning? On point. We tried different heat levels, and honestly, none were crazy spicy, so go wild and flex like you’re braver than you really are. The sauces were the real MVPs—especially the chicken sauce and that yellow sauce. 10/10 would happily risk my dignity by licking my fingers in public again.
