The Shelburne House Bed & Breakfast

We have visited the Shelburne Falls, MA area many times over the years and had never found a good place to stay until this trip. The Shelburne House ( a 5 minute drive from Shelburne Falls) is wonderful in every respect! We stayed three nights in the Fellows Room. It was very comfortable. The bed was excellent; there was a writing desk, two reading seats, and (if needed) a window air conditioner. The bathroom, which had both a tub and small shower, was sparkling clean. Our breakfasts were delicious and varied, and our hostess Sarah was kind, solicitous, knowledgeable about the area and its offerings, and super nice. There is a mini-fridge in the main hall for guests to use. The B&B is located on a smallish but well used road, though at night the traffic diminished, so noise was not an issu

Such a beautiful and charming place! The entire house, especially the room was super clean and cozy. Perfect for playing music on the record player and reading. Huge backyard with a beautiful view of an apple orchard and clear skies at night for stargazing. The hosts, Sarah and Nathan were super accessible and responded quickly to any questions and requests. Breakfasts were delicious! They also gave us amazing recommendations for the area, and really went above and beyond to make our weekend special, thank you! In a beautiful rural area where the lifestyle seems slow and relaxed, perfect for our weekend getaway. Lots of great restaurants, surrounding downtown areas, and unique finds to explore.

We arrived at the Shelburne house in the early evening just before sunset. The grounds on the top of the hill overlooking orchards and the foothills of the Berkshires are enchanting. It’s in close proximity to both Shelburne Falls and Greenfield. Sarah and Nathan are perfect hosts. The home is beautiful and full of historic charm. We brought our family with a 6-month-old and 3-year-old. The Alvord suite was ideal for our family. Sarah even supplied a pack-n-play and the plenty of games and toys. Breakfast was delicious Sarah went out of her way to find foods that would work for our six month old. We all felt fortunate to experience her generosity, and our three-year-old still asks when we’ll get to visit Sarah. Soon, we hope!

We stayed for a weekend and had a wedding to attend with a pre wedding party early on Friday. Sarah and Nathan were so accommodating and gave us access a bit early. We also had to leave early Sunday and they arranged a continental breakfast for us. The house is a gem, beautiful, clean, and smelled fresh. The common areas are amazing and the Fellows Room fit our needs perfectly. We could not be more pleased or have enough good things to say about this unique place. The special care that the hosts have for their place shows in the graciousness and kindness they present to their guests (including the daily, delicious, cooked breakfasts!!). They even left us a thank you note on departure. It is a fabulous house to stay and enjoy the spectacular sunrises and sunsets.

Classic New England home, thoughtfully appointed antique furniture. Clean, quiet, spacious. A place to unwind and disconnect and a positive, calming atmosphere. Sarah is a gracious and welcoming host! French toast was delicious. Rolling hills, orchard, and scenic vistas around the property Would recommend!
