The Serbian Bakery/Blue Door Bakery

my family visited this serbian bakery on our way to yosemite and immediately upon entry our nostrils were met with the most delicious smells of fresh breads and herbs and sweet cinnamon. i have never felt this way about bread before, but the garden focaccia was the best bread i have ever eaten in my life (we bought 4) and now i am on a mission to discover any bread that can possibly beat it...or i am going to have to see if they can mail this bread to me, because i am addicted! i legitimately cannot stop thinking about this bread.

If you are looking for delicious quality food made by amazing people then you need to visit Blue Door Bakery. When you stop in make sure to get one of their artisan sandwiches. They are all so good but my favorite is definitely their burrata special. They also have the best sourdough bread in the area. I always have to stop in and get a loaf and a side of their amazing balsamic sauce. Their chocolate chip cookies and morning buns are so delicious but my favorite is definitely their bran muffin. The owners are so friendly and amazing. You can tell they put love into everything they make. Definitely make sure to stop here the next time you are in Jackson. You won't regret it.

Small little bakery with delicious food. No seating inside. Just a small counter. They open at 9am and close at 3pm or until evening is sold out. There was a line at 9am and we decided to come back at 10am. We were told by a local to get their morning buns and deli sandwiches. I wish we went to 9am because when we came back, they were all sold out of the morning buns! We didn't get their sandwiches because we were heading to lunch afterwards. Unfortunately they are closed the next day (on Sundays and Mondays). We did get their focaccia to go and it was so delicious. We also got their chocolate chip cookies and bran muffin. All yum!

We went and had to buy a bit of everything because everything is so good! The bread is great! They use puff pastry dough for sweet and savory snacks. The puff pastry dough is on point! Both sweets and savory things are delicious! The must is the morning bun, it is amazing, sweet, sticky, crispy, soft and chewy!

Excellent little bakery, but get there EARLY & bring CASH! They were out of many items when we arrived 40 minutes after opening on a Saturday...fortunately, we were able to make do with delicious mushroom-onion-cheese turnovers, the last strawberry pastry they had (scrumptious), a chocolate chip cookie and a fresh loaf of sourdough. Makes a great half-way stop driving from Sacramento to Calaveras Big Trees; pick up your picnic here!
