The Sandwich Shop Diner

We tried this kinda cool little place , Sandwich Shop Diner , because of a promotion deal . This was our first time there . Atmosphere was pretty cool , lots of things to check out . We had the standard eggs & bacon breakfast & what was supposed to be eggs and sausage , but came with bacon instead and only 2 eggs when I had ordered 3 . It was supposed to come with toast , but it didn't . Brought this up to the waitress & she did correct her mistakes . She seemed timid , like maybe she was new . The food was mediocre . We also ordered a chef salad & a crescent city chicken sandwich to go . We ate those later on at home & they also were run of the mill . Cool place but the food quality could be better & the poor waitress needs more training .

I’ve eaten here several times now, and I feel like I’ve had enough experiences to give a fair review. My apologies in advance for the length of this review. If you’re someone who likes variety at breakfast, the Sunday buffet is a really good deal. I enjoy having multiple breakfast items, and that kind of variety usually gets expensive if you order à la carte at other restaurants. Because of that, the buffet feels like a huge savings. Everything on the buffet was hot and well stocked. The biscuits are more like canned, layered biscuits, but they’re still good. I approached this establishment with genuine enthusiasm, as diners are a rarity in our area. Upon arrival, I was greeted by courteous staff, and the restaurant itself appeared well-maintained and clean. Unfortunately, the culinary experience did not align with my expectations, particularly given the price point. The burger I ordered was made with what appeared to be unseasoned, frozen patties that lacked any depth of flavor. The buns tasted inexpensive and slightly stale, and the toppings seemed carelessly assembled. Equally disheartening was the portion of fries—approximately twelve in total—which cost an additional $4 on top of a $10 burger. Homey, comfortable diner with that great small town feel. A reasonable menu and well-prepared dishes, and the wait staff was fun and efficient.

Quaint cafe. Been for breakfast and lunch and we've like it so much, we've purchased handfuls of gift certificates, just for us to use! Always wonderful staff, and the food is tasty!
