The Roost

Stopped in for some lunch and very glad that we did. The service was super friendly and on point. The food was very tasty. We had the fish and chips and a bacon burger. The fish and chips were good. Nothing super special but tasty and cooked perfectly. The burger was really good! The meat was very tasty and cooked to perfection and the patties are made to order so they're always fresh. The atmosphere is also very cozy.

I was looking forward to trying The Roost because of a menu that I saw online. My first impression walking in the door was that there were more flies in the place than there were customers. Once we arrived, I discovered that the items that I wanted to try had been removed at some point by way of scratching them off each menu with a Sharpie. So we moved on and chose other items and we were promptly told that they had ran out of the ingredients to make a French Dip, no turkey for a Club sandwich, and no Jo-jo's. By now we were fairly annoyed but we decided to make the best of it and chose chicken strips and a club sandwich without the turkey. We had a great week day meal with friends with great service and good food. We had the salmon melt, fish & chips with the cobbler for dessert. Prices were about $35pp with drink and dessert.

Service is alright and drinks are priced okay. The food hasn’t been good the last few times I’ve come. I got a Philly and the meat was super dry and tough, about half of it was not edible. The tots also tasted like whatever else had been cooked in the frier over the last week My kid said the chicken strips were good.

Food is decent. Waitress was friendly and efficient. It was semi busy but we had to wait an hour for a couple sandwiches:(
