The Rolling Spring Roll (Commack)

I am Vietnamese and I had a very disappointing experience with this place. First of all, the host/ cashier was rude to me when I tried to talk to him when I first came in. He also pushed me to pay with credit card even though I wanted to pay cash. Getting to the food - I got bun bo hue, pho, and egg rolls - I am Vietnamese and I’ve gotten takeout from places countless times. You are ALWAYS supposed to separate the bean sprouts and mint and lime from the dish. Those are supposed to be optional for the customer. THIS PLACE COMBINED THE NOODLES WITH THE BEAN SPROUTS AND LIME!!! You are not supposed to do that! You are always supposed to package them separately. I have always wished there were truly delicious pho restaurants here in Long Island, New York, as I’ve long been a fan of Vietnamese noodle soup. Over the years, a few places have opened, but each visit left me disappointed. Then, to my surprise, I recently discovered this hidden gem—and I couldn’t be more delighted. In the past, I usually had to travel all the way to Flushing just to enjoy a satisfying bowl of pho. Now, I no longer need to make that trip. For anyone who loves pho, I can confidently say that one visit here will leave you with no regrets.

I frequent this place quite often, and I love their beef pho and their summer rolls. Though their summer rolls are quite expensive (2 for $10) they have a very good taste with a blend of beef, shrimp, noodles, and lettuce. Other reviewers have said that they hated the food here but I believe that this food is one of the best tasting from the Vietnamese cuisine that I have had. (I have been to over 10 others). It is an acquired taste and not all may like it but if you do this is the place to go. The pho here is large, with generous helping of beef. I recommend the extra large if you want the best price to size ratio (enough for two servings). Just make sure to push the meat down if you would like it fully cooked. I always come here for a comforting bowl of Beef Pho, and they never disappoint! The service is excellent, fast, friendly, and attentive every time. They even have a delicious pudding for dessert that’s a must-try! It’s close to home and always hits the spot when I’m craving Pho. Highly recommend this place for great food, great people, and great service!
