Amanda and Kyle (owners) and Katie were amazing. The food is first class. Kyle is an extraordinary chef. The menu was really interesting and his culinary talent is one of the best I have experienced around the country. Small town restaurant NO WAY. I loved the three floors. Lower level cozy cocktail happy hour lounge with friends or a date. Main floor dining and bar. 2nd floor had a very nice eating area. The old building architecture was charming and the owners build out was modern and edgy. We can't wait to go back and make this a monthly ritual. We are blessed to have such an upscale restaurant in Grand Rapids! Wow!

I travel frequently for work and found myself in Grand Rapids on a Sunday evening. I found this place and gave it a try, and it was so exceptional I felt I needed to leave a review. Having eaten in many nice places around the world, I can say that this place would not seem out of place in a big city like New York or Toronto. Everything was extremely high quality and cooked to perfection, the service was friendly and the cocktail I had was very unique and delicious. Prices were also very reasonable, with an appetiser, a large steak, dessert, and two drinks coming out at around $100+ tip. A random Sunday night dinner in a small town turned into one of the best meals I’ve ever had. 10/10 exceptional and an absolute gem.

What an awesome evening! We started with fabulous drinks, we shared one an item from each of the courses. We can’t decide what was our favorite! Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and nice. Food was incredible. Highly recommend drinks and dinner at The Pines!

If there happens to be an open reservation at The Pines Restaurant take it! Every little detail is so meticulously thought out and planned - from the quality of the ingredients, to the imaginative cocktails, and the beautiful ambience! It is elevated fine dining at its best, yet unpretentious. The service has always been so friendly and attentive. I love that many of the ingredients are locally sourced and that the menu changes regularly to use whatever produce is freshest. Also, most of the dishes are gluten free. Dining at The Pines Restaurant is unlike any other dining experience in the area, and we are so lucky to have such a place in our community! I cannot wait to go back and see what new dishes will be on the menu next time!

We chose to dine at The Pines based on a recommendation from a couple staying at the same bed and breakfast we were. The menu is one page - but has many options. There are five courses to choose items from in any way you desire. We started out with Shrimp Bisque and popovers. The Shrimp Bisque is a must-have. It’s got a slight spice to it that hits perfectly. The popovers were good, we enjoyed one dip over the other. Second course was Beets and goat cheese. Don’t let this simple description fool you - I’m convinced that even if you’re not a beet person - you’d love these. They were awesome. Third course was a wild mushroom “risotto”. Wow. This dish was phenomenal and was only second to the bisque for us. For our main course, my partner chose the steak, and I chose the chicken. We were
