The Old 27 Ice Cream Shop

We happened on The Old 27 lce Cream while traveling through the area and what a great find! The ice cream "flight" gave us the chance to try four flavors (Key Lime Pie, Lemon Sorbet, Triple Chocolate, and Carrot Cake) and all the flavors and textures were great. The seating is outside under shade and they offer a small mini-golf course in back. The town of Decatur seems worth a visit as well: they were having a weeks-long sculpture walk/contest and a Bavarian party the night we stopped.

I stopped here to get my kiddo a little ice cream treat to end the week. The service was good, the attendant was friendly, especially to my boy. They had a number of options of ice cream, as well as soft serve and dipped. They also have a solid food menu. We only tried the one ice cream, though.

Drove from ohio about an hour away. Very good ice cream. Very good ladies working the window. Love that they have activities for the kids. Corn hole and putt-putt. Look forward to coming back really soon. Love places like this. Thank you for the great hospitality.

3 places to order. A drive thru, outside window and you can go inside. There’s also a small section on the side of the building where you can play putt putt or corn hole.

They have such good ice cream and it's really good. It's a small business, but the staff is amazing. The mini golf course they have is also fun for in the summer.
