The Nest

All the years we've driven by this place and never stopped, what a shame. Good food and service will bring us back again!! If you're looking for a spicy burger, try the heat. It won't disappoint. We also had portobello strips, jalapeno poppers, the bourbon buds sandwich, and a couple mules (caramel apple and an orange).

The Nest in Alpena refers to the owl motif and decor inside. It’s a pretty small place, that doubles in size considering the outside patio. Two of our party of three ordered burgers and the other ordered a brisket sandwich. The burgers were outstanding, but the brisket was so-so and didn’t live up to its pricey tag. All of these came with chips, and fries were an upcharge, but the waitress surprisingly didn’t know what exactly the up charge was…. The kitchen closed at 8 pm, which left some people scrambling.

My husband and I stopped here for our first visit. We loved everything except the pretty loud regulars. They weren’t awful but it’s hard to speak to each other in such an intimate space with someone talking to the entire room. But let’s focus! The service was super friendly (a little slow considering the size however I think she was dealing with a drink order) but friendly and accommodating. The drinks were exceptional. I had a spicy margarita and it was perfect. We had the chicken and waffle sandwich and we agree it gets better as you go. So many complex flavors. It’s very well done. There are several other options we want to try so this will be our date night spot for a while. Very well done especially considering the limitations of size they were up against.

BEST little spot in the N.E. corner of the mitten!!!! EXCEPTIONALLY well made food. I'm a 7 days a week VERY good, picky (meaning done right with quality ingredients) home cook. They cook as good as I make it at home....and that's saying something cause I set my expectation bar high. Brought our 2 little French bulldog pups to eat on the patio and they quickly brought us water for the pooches. Excellent service and food. NAILED IT!!!!

Stopped here for some dinner around 7:30 p.m. it was quite crowded. It is a cute little restaurant. It's not very big but it does have a big patio but it wasn't very warm. This day we all found this restaurant to be charming. The servers were attentive. There was a bar and there was some specials on the board. All the food that we have is really good. We took some chicken noodle soup to go for someone that wasn't feeling well that they really love that they did have boards that had specialty drinks
