Alpena Sourdough makes the best sourdough I’ve had in northern Michigan.Every loaf is beautifully baked with a crisp crust and that perfect sour tang inside. You can tell it’s naturally fermented and made with a lot of care. The quality is consistent, and it’s clear they take pride in their craft. If you're into real, traditional sourdough, Alpena Sourdough is a must-try.

So thankful to have found Alpena Sourdough! We moved here from the Seattle area and I wasn’t sure I would be able to find someone to buy sourdough from….not only did I find that, but WOW is it good and they are such kind amazing humans. 🫶🏻 I can personally tell you that the Everything Bagel is THE BEST for sandwiches, I’m in love with their original sourdough as well as the cinnamon swirl and the cute little cinni-minis and the cheddar cheese sourdough is possibly the most addictive bread I’ve ever had. I really find it hard to imagine that any of their breads aren’t amazing. Add to this the sourdough carrot cake scones (I haven’t tried any other flavor yet) and I am just drooling while typing this! Give them a try, you won’t regret it.

Great little store. Excellent sourdough. The cinnamon swirl is amazing. For $12 you get a big loaf.
