The Mexican Bar and Grill

Having spent all my life in the Southwest, it takes a bit to impress me. But this is probably the best Mexican food I've had. Carne asada y camarones diablo. Perfect amount of heat. When you find yourself making 'man noises' throughout the meal, you know it's good.

Friends and I went to try this restaurant since we heard good things about it, the food was ok, is missing a lot on the Mexican authentic flavor but it’s not the most horrible thing either, second the service we could tell our waitress didn’t want to be there, she looked bothered the entire time she was asking us what we wanted, when we asked for water she rolled her eyes at us, another thing we found weird is that for a party of 3 a 20% tip was automatically added to our bill which that normally applies for a bigger party of people. I don’t recommend to either try it or not, I think if you probably go on a good day you’ll receive a better service but the food quality it’s ok!

Have eaten here a few times. Good food, large servings. Was disappointed on the Juevos Rancheros. Tasty, but small. Juevos Rancheros should have a full size tortilla, not a taquito tortilla that just the eggs fit on. Tortilla, beans, eggs and meat should be smothered with the green pork chile. There was 4 or 5 small pieces of pork in the green chile and barely enough to cover the eggs. For a $20 to $30 breakfast it should be a hardy one.

We were a party of 6 and rolled in after a day of skiing at vail. No probs getting in. The restaurant was very clean and decorated which indicated the owner has pride! I had a delicious frozen marg and the chip were homemade any good salsa. I ordered three taco with chicken and they were served street style. I liked it!

What a charming fun place! The service was great and the food is exactly what you would want from a Mexican restaurant. I recommend the Eagle margarita, it’s the classic kind you want when you want a margarita.
