The Mendocino Book Company

Love this bookstore. We will often purchase books here, even at a higher price, rather than purchasing from Target or other places. However recently we have found the staff (one younger gal specifically) to be extremely rude and short mannered. We will most likely be holding off from purchasing here for a while, because let’s be honest, who wants to walk into a bookstore and feel like you’re getting the cold shoulder from the staff? So we’ll just wait till the place feels warm and inviting again.

I purchased two classics in beautiful condition that have golden embossed covers and gold page edges with shiny leather hardcovers. Truly a magical find! The staff were helpful and so friendly. I will absolutely be going back on my next trip to the area!

Awesome bookstore with helpful staff! The books are reasonably priced and the store is well layed out and open. Plenty of fresh new titles to browse out on the shelves though I did notice some of the first books in a series where missing from the shelves, though without a doubt the staff would be happy to order them for you.

My 9 year old kid ordered a book from them. They were friendly and respectful.

I always shop here when I can. Whenever I need to special order a book, it usually only takes one or two days for it to come in! They even text or call me when it arrives. Ukiah could definitely use more bookstores like this. The staff is always very knowledgeable and happy to help.
