The Lake House Bed & Breakfast

My husband and I spent a restful weekend while biking on the Withlacoochee Trail.We arrived in time to catch a beautiful sunset on the lake and enjoyed watching the egrets and herons on the surrounding property as the sun went down. The Lake House sits on a beautiful piece of property that remains natural in state and provides peace and privacy. The original house was built in 1928 as a hunting lodge, and the current owner has managed to maintain some of the home's original rustic appeal while incorporating Old Florida charm and warmth with antiques and eclectic gardens.Our room was clean and comfortable and overlooked the gardens and lake. Cathy is a sweet lady and a gracious hostess. She serves a delicious breakfast. We will be back!

Traveling with a friend to do some biking on the nearby Withlacoochee Trail. Cathy is a sweet, delightful, friendly hostess, who makes every effort to accommodate special requests. Rooms were comfortable, breakfast very good. The b&b itself is an older cottage, filled with furniture, collectibles, eclectic. Located right on the lake, plenty of chairs outside to sit and enjoy the outdoors. Great location! If you want a fancy hotel, this isn't for you. If you want a taste of florida hospitality and charm, this is it!

I love The Lake House and have been visiting there for the past 8 years. Cathy creates a beautiful experience for visitors to her unique and lovely B&B. It's one of a kind situated in the most perfect part of Citrus County. The establishment is beautiful, the rooms and beds are so comfortable. The breakfasts are fabulous, scenery, the lake, the quaint small town of Inverness, perfect! Cathy is afraid that when I come for a stay I won't leave! She is a special Innkeeper. Rates are unbelievable for such an experience. Don't miss it.

We visited this place for two nights to visit Wells Gray Provincial Park, before we headed to the Rockies. This is a beautiful place with a magnificent view on the lake. Very kind hosts that made us feel like home. Breakfast was very good, and we even also used the barbecue once with a beautiful sunset. Not to forget that you can use paddle boards, kayaks, and canoes anytime you want to hit the lake. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!!

This is a delightful place to stay. Quaintly decorated rooms, welcoming host and easy access to Inverness. Excellent breakfast too! We cycled the Withlacoochee Trail and stayed with Cathy. She is a welcoming, and pleasant host who saw to it that our stay was as pleasant as possible. Cathy was informative and helped us choose good restaurants. We will certainly return next time we're in Inverness.
