The Iron Horse Charitone

Well. Bathrooms leave a bit to desire, felt like being on a tilt a whirl in the men's room. But the food.... best I've had in a long while, onion rings outstanding, had turkey sandwich great and tenderloin perfect. Prices I thought reasonable given today's inflationary market. Stop in you can't go wrong.

We came 12/31 ar 4:00pm. We got the pulled pork and the pork tenderloin with onion rings and onion/chive fries. The food is is PHENOMENAL, I do not exaggerate. The Sam Addams batter on the pork tenderloin was out of sight. Amazing! The onion rings were fantastic and the sauce that came with them and the fries was on point. Seriously, best food in a 100 mile radius I've had and I've lived here half my life! The staff is friendly and helpful and the restaurant was so clean and well kept. Fantastic. The atmosphere was great, though we got to go orders so we didnt have to wake up my kiddo on the car so were werent inside for too long but we'll definitely come back soon. Our server, who i wish I had caught her name, who took our order brought our food to the car! Amazing lady. Good vibes

We were fishing for the day at nearby Lake Ellis. Looking for dinner when we got done. Didn't know what to expect but we were absolutely blown away. Service, food and atmosphere were absolutely top notch! And it wasn't overly expensive like places in Des Moines. We'll definitely be back.

We had an outstanding meal at the Iron Horse Charitone on 4/15/22 - everything was delicious, our server was pleasant, efficient & kept our drinks filled - the onion rings & shrimp batter was super delicious & the Bread pudding was perfect - good cocktails too! We plan on returning soon!

We were passing through and hungry! It was amazing food and I was able to stay within my calorie budget and I appreciate that. The Cajun Shrimp was amazing! My husband had the fish and it was also amazing! That tartar sauce was bomb!! Abbie was our server and she was fantastic!! We'll be back next trip through!!
