Customer Reviews
Patrick and Michael are kind, gracious, and charming hosts. Breakfasts and Sunday brunch were delicious. Wine and snacks on offer each evening. A big cabinet full of games to play. Abundant art on display. Patrick pointed us toward beautiful hikes and toward towns and galleries and restaurants worth visiting. Their General Store serves coffee, teas, beer, wine, baked goods, sandwiches, salads, BBQ, and great ice cream. My wife and I stayed for a long weekend and will be back.
The Main House, cottage and grounds were beautiful! The Innkeepers, Patrick and Michael were friendly and attentive. The breakfast was incredible. If you don't stay the night, at least stop at the General Store - it had everything and more. We can't wait to go back.
We had such a lovely weekend at the Inn. The owners, Michael and Patrick, are quite lovely and have made sure the entire experience from beginning to end is just as if you spent the weekend with friends, albeit ones who cook really well. And not only are they friendly but so are their animals and friends. While we were there we celebrated our anniversary and they surprised us with a bottle of champagne in our room. Very sweet and a very nice touch. Now the real question is, when can we return. Don’t hesitate and book a weekend with them. You will not regret a minute.
My husband and I stayed at the Inn this past weekend for a dance retreat the Inn was hosting. We loved waking up every morning to a delicious, home-cooked breakfast (bring your stretchy pants, because they aren’t kidding about the three courses!) and relaxing on the rocking chairs on the front porch and watching the leaves fall. The Inn and surrounding grounds are super cozy, and make the perfect fall getaway from the hustle and bustle of the DC area. Despite the Inn being fully booked for the holiday weekend, Michael and Patrick went above and beyond to make sure each guest was well taken care of. They welcomed us with wine, cheese, and crackers upon our arrival, gave great recommendations on local activities/events, and checked in with us regularly to make sure we had everything we need
Our weekend at the Inn at Lost River was heavenly. The proprietors---Michael and Patrick---are warm, gracious, and extremely knowledgeable. From the scrumptious breakfast to the happy hour chocolate chip cookies to the information sheet replete with goings on around town, everything reflected their attention to detail and good taste. The historic farmhouse rooms--including the sunny breakfast room--are beautifully appointed. The house is only a few yards away from the cafe and historic general store. What a welcome escape from D.C.! We can't wait to return.
