The Hygrade Inn

The Hygrade Inn was our first bed and breakfast experience, and we can't say enough great things about it! The home, hosts, food and surrounding area are unmatched. We stayed in the Shippen room and it felt like a honeymoon suite - which was perfect since we were celebrating our 25th anniversary. Loved the entire experience. We'll definitely be back!

My husband and I have stayed in inns and B&Bs across North America. The Hygrade Inn ranks in our top 3 places to stay. Others have written about how great the Inn is, so there's little we can add about the breakfast selection, the welcoming rooms, and the overall ambiance of the Inn. It was just a wonderful place to relax after a busy day of exploring the PA Wilds and looking for the elusive elk. ||However, as senior travelers, we always look for what we call "senior-friendly" rooms. Staying in the Shippen Room, we enjoyed having comfortable chairs to relax in, a couch that was just the right height and didn't sink to the floor, and plenty of light. I have stayed multiple times and I am never disappointed. Hospitality is always warm and welcoming. Rooms are wonderfully appointed, clean, and private. If you are lucky enough to be there on bread baking day you will think you're in heaven the smell is amazing. I am a definite return customer.

Beautiful inside and out! Excellent value for the price. The accommodations were comfortable, clean and beautiful. The owners were very friendly, interesting and attentive. The breakfast was amazingly delicious - a treat! We're sorry we missed out on asking for dinner the night we arrived, we just were not sure when we would arrive or we would have taken advantage of the meal they offered. We got there in time to take in the aromas - heavenly! The HyGrade was a breathe of fresh air. We highly recommend a stay here.

My wife and I spent a weekend in Emporium while I participated in a local race, and we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay than the Hygrade Inn. It’s a charming, beautifully decorated inn with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. We stayed in the Shippen room, which was comfortable and thoughtfully designed—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, and the innkeepers were very friendly, and attentive throughout our stay. The location is great too. There are several good restaurants within walking distance, and a nearby winery adds a nice touch for anyone looking to explore the area. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. We’d happily stay at the Hygrade Inn again without hesitation.
