The Gourmet

Our first time dining at the gourmet room. We tried to eat at the prime rib room in a Saturday night with no reservations and they could not accommodate us. So, we walked into Gourmet room was beautiful in every way. We were seated right away in a booth with impressive river views and floor to ceiling windows over looking the Colorado river. Casino lights reflecting off the river at night set the romantic mood for our dinner. President Ronald Reagan is pictured with Don Laughlin at the entry. Wine and spirits selection was amazing 5 stars Warm bread w/ soft butter to start Delicious salad with ranch, Escargot for our appetizer was good. Well I don’t like giving bad reviews but I hope that this will help to make things better for the next customer. We went there for Valentine’s Day and it happened to be our 40th anniversary so we had been looking forward to this meal. First I like to say the service was wonderful and I was given a rose at the table which was wonderful. We had the oysters and they were delicious but the shrimp scampi appetizer was full of hard cheese but it had a good taste. But this is the hard part, I ordered the surf and turf . The lobster and I don’t say this lightly but it was the worst lobster I have ever had. It was so dry even the butter didn’t help it and it tasted old also. I have had better lobster at Red Lobster and that’s not a good thing. I did ask for my filet mignon rare but this was raw! I

The service was good but the food was awful. Chicken piccata is one of my all time favorites but this was bad. It was boiled chicken in a nasty bland gravy with lemon squeezed on top. The salad was spring mix and barely eatable. The bread tasted like flour and yeast. The booth that we were sat at was extremely uncomfortable. I paid nearly $50pp for this garbage.

Went as a party of 10, multiple times we were told “Give me a minute, give me a minute” we then proceeded to see our server help 3 other customers before getting back to my group. Keep in mind we did have a reservation. Only good service came from our servers assistant who listened to our party members and relayed the message to our server. The servers assistant kept the table clean and attended to our party fairly well, with that being said it was a major disappointment and not worth the bill that my party had to foot for subpar service and lack of atmosphere. Grand piano with no player, multiple speakers that are just off. Would not recommend to anyone visiting Laughlin.

We had a party of 10 for my mother in laws 91st birthday, and the evening was just perfect. The food was well prepared. The service was excellent, with Richard our waiter being very nice, and very attentive, as were the rest of his staff. I had the ribeye med rare, and it was amazing. Well done. Thank you for making this a very memorable experience.
