The Gifford-Risley House

The Gifford-Risley House is an outstanding B&B. We stayed in their Renaissance Room for 9 nights over the Thanksgiving 2025 week. It was beautifully decorated and very comfortable, including a large bathroom and closet. The hosts, Monika and Z, were wonderful, very friendly, and helpful. Breakfasts were great! The house is also conveniently located just a few blocks from the Media, PA main street, which is lined with a number of shops and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again!

I had a very enjoyable stay at the Gifford Risley House. Having never stayed in Media before, I was pleasantly surprised by the abundance of good places to eat, all only a few blocks from the quiet residential oasis where this B&B is located. The house itself was very comfortable and the hosts went out of their way to make me feel at home. I would even recommend staying here if you want a more relaxing experience while visiting Philadelphia, as the convenient train to Center City is less than a mile away.

We just finished staying at the Gifford-Risley house for two nights in the Queen Victoria Suite that suited our family of 4 (kids 11 and 15) well. WOW! It is such an amazing and wonderful place. The entire Victorian has been redone by the hosts, Monika and Zee, with exquisite taste! It is so clean, comfortable, and cozy. The hosts are AMAZING! The breakfasts are superb. There are so many thoughtful touches. We highly, highly, highly recommend this place!

Our book club went here for afternoon tea. We had such a great time. The B&B is so beautiful! The owners put their heart and soul into it. The teas were wonderful. There was a great selection of sandwiches and treats. Soup was a nice extra. The service was excellent. It was a very nice relaxing afternoon.

We stayed here with my husband and were absolutely delighted. It’s so much better than staying at a hotel - the atmosphere is incredible and full of history. The interiors look even more beautiful in person than in the photos. Everything is carefully and tastefully decorated, with so much attention to detail. The hosts are truly lovely people. They even woke up earlier to prepare breakfast for us (normally it’s served at 9 a.m., which we didn’t see mentioned anywhere). Breakfast was delicious - fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, and an omelet with sausages - we really enjoyed it! If we come back to this area, we’ll definitely stay here again.
