The Elms

The website is vague which should have been a red flag. It is not an inn at all, it is the rental of a bedroom with no amenities. |When we arrived, the room was dirty. The cleaners arrived and looked like they were homeless. I felt that the room was dirty. There were no ceiling lights, it was dark and dreary. The windows did not open but for perhaps 1 foot at the top, there is no air conditioners and the fan was broken. A second fan was had and it was taped together. There was ONE shared bath for all rooms!! There were 3 other rooms with people so at least 8 shared a bath!!! |I had to wait 2 hours to use the bathroom in the morning while other families showered and got ready!!! | There is no inn keeper, there was no water the first night as the dispenser was empty!! What an amazing place with such amazing history. You totally feel like you've stepped back in time and if you can stop long enough to really appreciate the craftsmanship that went into a home of this era.You will be quite amazed. The room we had was perfect.And I spent more than a few minutes roaming about and standing on the back porch with a cup of coffee. We most certainly would go back.And as a matter of fact, we plan to. Excellent value and Excellent host.

The pictures of it online on airbnb showed a beautiful antique house surrounded by green grass. It looked well kept. But when my mom and I arrived the outside looked worn down and dirty. The field of grass was just good camera angles since it was right next to a busy road. We still gave it a shot and were even more disappointed to find that the inside looks just as gloomy as it did outside. No lights were on and the house looked almost abandoned. When we went to our room we found that in the windows there were dead leaves and other trash just stuck and sitting there. Plus, only one window worked. And while some things were clean an equal amount of shelves and dressers were just dusty. And there was tons of random clutter everywhere for some reason. Then we were more disheartened to learn t

What a beautiful home, so cool with the high ceilings and vintage feel. Beds were comfy, bathroom was very clean, and price was right. Although there is noise from the busy road, a white noise machine was in the room to help mask the vehicle sounds. The room did get a bit cool but a provided space heater easily took the chill off. We enjoyed multiple games of pool, and especially appreciated the provided coffee and tea service in the mornings. If the weather had cooperated we would have loved the spacious porch with comfy seating. No TV - be sure to bring a book or some board games for when you're ready to wind down at days end. Highly recommend 😃

We loved our stay at the Elms. We felt very safe and comfortable our entire stay. The bathrooms and rooms were beyond clean. We had two minor inconveniences of only having three towels and the beds were not comfortable but it fit the aesthetic of the Inn so that’s understandable!
