What a wonderful “old school” place to stay. They ring a bell for dinner. And there was a handmade place card at everyone’s table. The food was delicious. Our cottage had five or six bedrooms with twin to king beds. There was one and a half baths for a possible up to nine people to share. There were other cottages on the hundred year old inn property. Loved our stay there in spite of a wicked windy weather that howled all night. We were right over the ocean.

"Life as it should be!"||Some of the negative comments on here are simply, MORONIC! This jewel has been in the same family for over 4 generations. This is Maine, rustic living at it's best. ||"The walls are thin" someone stated in a recent review. Of course they're thin! The structures are old, and very "Walton-like". I actually felt myself wanting to yell~out, "Goodnight John Boy!" If you want 5 star accommodations please go to a snooty hotel. If you expect the pool to be open when it's 50 degrees out, go to the Caribbean. ||Breakfast and Dinner have ONE SEATING~of which you are informed, because the owners are cooking the meals from scratch. I am a chef and typically am apprehensive about other peoples cooking. Let me tell you that the hand picked, Blueberry pancakes, with the daily home

One of the best memories of our trip is staying at the driftwood. What a location! And the food! And the lady at the front desk! Unfortunately we only had 1 night there and it was a doozy. The wind was blowing 25mph all night and with the high tide made it quite noisy. What an experience!

While the view here is amazing, just come and take a peek, but stay somewhere else. The rooms are very small walls are very thin, and nobody has a private bathroom if you stay in one of the larger buildings. The cottages have their own bathrooms, but overall it is more of a communal style living. Though, it was very pleasant to listen to the waves crash as I fell asleep. It was a bit of a disappointment that the pool was not open and filled with algae, it looks like it has not been touched in months. The advertised breakfast and dinners were not available. So, if you are looking for something a little more all-inclusive, I would stay elsewhere. For the price we paid, the bare minimum amenities were not worth it.

My favorite place to stay in Maine The beauty of the ocean and sound of crashing waves at night draw me back every year. The accommodations are rustic but cozy. A very special place.
