The Dog Pound Restaurant and Smoke House

This is truly a slice of Americana… a converted gas station in a hot dog shop! It’s pretty small inside but plenty of seating outside. The food was good, and tasty and the service was top notch.. very friendly food folks. To say that it was the best hot dog I ever had would be an overreaction, but the vibe is pretty cool. They even brought out a hot dog for our Weiner dog with some water :. Which she thoroughly loved!! Canned soft drinks served with a small.: and a good vibe.. fun place.

Hidden gem in Cave City. My daughter and I stopped here for lunch, as it is conveniently located across the street from Dinosaur World. I ordered the Maddie Dog & Cowboy Beans, and my daughter got the Nacho Mac n Cheese and Loaded Salad. Our server was so polite, attentive, and made us feel comfortable to take our time, which as a mom I appreciated a lot. She even brought my daughter extra ranch, which was a nice touch. The chili on the Maddie Dog was incredible, and easily the best chili dog in Kentucky. The nacho Mac n Cheese was a little spicy for my daughter, but I personally loved it. The Cowboy Beans had peppers and onions and a nice sweet and smoky flavor. The Loaded Salad was a HUGE portion! What a fun place that makes you feel like part of the community. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and the location is fun and relaxing. I highly reccomend every hot dog on the menu!

it was our first time there & def didnt disappoint!!! great place, great food, great prices, great service. loved eating here. fantastic. all the food was delicious. 10 out of 10, definitely will be back! we ordered 5 food items and 2 drinks, which came out to $30! which is not a price you'll easily find! we got full and had to take some home. the cowboy beans were exceptional. the nachos were super cheesy. the burgers were amazing, the Mac Russell was yummy!

Just got done having lunch at The Dog Pound, I had the Big Jack Attack Burger with a mustard dog on the side. The wife had the pulled pork sandwich special, with the loaded potato salad. Everything was delicious!!! The pulled pork was so tender and juicy! The owner told me his secret BBQ sauce, because it is delicious! Im not going to say how he made it, you will have to stop by and ask him yourself after you try it!! I definitely recommend!!!
