We were so lucky to have the owner of The Curry Queen open up the dining room just for us - private, exclusive, and an hour before closing. She truly made us feel special 🤍 The food - Samosa Chaat, Aloo Matar Gobi and whole wheat Chappathi - was rich with love and Indian spices - absolutely incredible! 100/10 🔥 Support your local, family - owned restaurants and try something new… a taste from India right here in Old Saybrook!
Fantastic food. The owner & chef, Nalini, came out and personally served our group and took the time to speak with us about her journey and decision to open her restaurant in Old Saybrook. So glad to have authentic traditional Indian cuisine close-by. I had Manchurean Shrimp w Aloo Paratha....phenomenal. 80% of her business is carry-out. Great winter comfort food. Our group dined-in. Simple clean atmosphere. Will be going back, for sure. Huge menu ...will take a few years to get to try it all. :)
While traveling from New York to Rhode Island, we stopped at The Curry Queen for a quick lunch—and what an incredible find! The restaurant has ample parking and a charming, decorative interior that adds to the experience. We ordered Chicken Korma and ghee-topped wheat chapatis. The chapatis were soft and perfectly made, while the Chicken Korma was bursting with flavor. We asked for medium spice, and it was just right—rich, aromatic, and satisfying. A delightful stopover that we’ll definitely remember!
This is a hidden gem! We came in between lunch and dinner and had an amazing time. Our Shrimp Curry was spicy, creamy, savory and perfectly textured. Cauliflower, pees and potatoes were cooked on point l, rich in flavor, colors, and aromas. The server was very attentive, kind, and generous. Special thanks to the kitchen and Nalini 🫶
We came as a party of three on a Thursday night. We were sat at a comfortable booth. I appreciate the detailed descriptions for each dish. All the food was delicious, I especially enjoyed the lamb Rogan Josh. I asked for spicy, and was not disappointed. The garlic naan and ghee paratha went great with the curry. The owner was very nice and came out to check on us.
