The Common Man Restaurant Claremont

We came here for dinner and were absolutely delighted. The restaurant was very cozy and beautiful, and the staff were all very friendly and attentive. We each had a main course and a dessert. Both main courses were cooked to perfection and very tasty. The plates were prepared with love. The dessert was also absolutely delicious. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right here. We'll be happy to come back again.

We are locals to the area but have never sat down to eat at common man. We have gone to company parties that were catered them. We decided it was time to dine in and enjoy! I want to start off by saying once you walk down the stairs into the actual restaurant it is stunning! The glass flooring allowed us to watch the rushing water below! It was breath taking! They have a cracker and ch bar to hold you over while you wait for your food. They also bring you delicious bread. We had to different kinds and I absolutely loved the lemon blueberry roll. Our drinks were tasty and well made! The manager was making his way around the restaurant greeting every table. I love when they actually take pride in thier jobs! Wonderful dinner at the Common Man tonight. They were short staffed, but they let us know when we arrived. We enjoyed the wait outside on the river till we could get a table. What stunning location overlooking the rapids! Our excellent cocktail and the gardens and river side table were utterly delightful. Once we got our table inside, Patrick, the manager, came by to check on us. Our server was wonderful, and the food was delicious. We are so lucky to have such a unique and wonderful restaurant in Claremont. A hidden gem.

The Nantucket Pie… You know the magical cheese pull of a cheese sauce? Well, that wasn’t this sauce. It was bland, especially so once the panko made it into a thick paste. As for seafood, the one small lobster claw was chewy, like a piece of gum that doesn’t break down during chewing. The shrimp was good. Most scallops were tender but one was squishy and ended up in the napkin and that ended dinner. Maybe this was due to being a takeout order, but I could not be more dissatisfied.

Ive gone in a few times and their food is good. However the past two times I have ordered and burger I've asked for it to be cooked medium and I would get and it would be well done. Not just well done, but it tasted burnt and no moisture to it. I also don't think the quality of food was worth the price. I got their carrot cake and there was so much walnuts on it not in it but on it that it took away the flavor of carrot cake.
