The Colonial Restaurant

My friend took me here for supper because it's his favorite place. Now I know why. Our waitress Jasmine was very nice and so was Brooke. Food was delicious and Jasmine was very attentive and also quick to refill our drinks and take our empty plates. I will definitely try to get back there soon.

Been living in Virginia all my life especially around the Lynchburg area. I had always heard good things about the colonial restaurant, however I've only visited here recently. it is an easy place to get to with plenty of parking. The interior of the restaurant is well done, kinda log cabin feel. Service was decent. Did appear that the way staff was attended to the folks eating. The food was lackluster. Didn't feel like there was a lot of seasoning. Also felt like the cook may have been less experienced, has my hamburger steak was cut nearly into probably to check whether it was well done. There was plenty of desert, I didn't think that it was prepared in house. Not a bad dinner but then again just ok food.

We love stopping here as we travel from the Shenandoah Valley. Husband’s hot dog was scrumptious. Have always wanted to try their pie but usually order a meal and I’m too full. Today I wasn’t very hungry so excitedly ordered the pecan pie. I was very disappointed to see it had barely any pecans, only a few up near the crust. When politely asked about it was told ,”we’ve been getting them from same supplier for years”…..then, “went back and looked and they look fine, only a few sparse places here and there.” That’s it. Done. So reckon I just got “lucky” and got from the “sparse” section. No, “may I get you a piece with more pecans or I’ll discount the charge.” I do see other photos here of pecan pie slices that look like a normal pecan pie. As you can see, mine was “different”….🤷🏼

I really enjoyed my first time here. Completely unexpected. The portions were sizable, and the food was delicious. It was quiet and clean. They are always busy so I wanted to stop by and I was not disappointed. I had the chicken strips with macaroni and cheese, broccoli and hush puppies. We also ordered the hamburger steak with green beans. It was all really good. I have no complaints. I will definitely be going back.

Absolutely delicious foods and great atmosphere and delightful service! Our server Randi was personable, attentive, prompt and incredibly efficient. My Veggies omelet was mouth watering delish! Nice size servings. Biscuit and gravy very tasty. Everyone in our party left happy and full. Single room Restroom very clean and comfortable.
