I’d say the breakfast was adequate. The coffee was a little bitter and the biscuit was tough. Take it with a grain of salt, as this is a one-visit review. The real value to me is the service and atmosphere. I don’t think there’s a better view of the bay for breakfast. The servers are friendly and responsive, and the food came out fast. I’d visit again.
We stopped in for a bite since it was next door to the attraction we were visiting. It was midweek and just a few tables in there. The service was friendly. We ordered several dishes as a family including an Italian omelet, breakfast sandwich, cheeseburger, kids cheeseburger, crepes, and grilled cod sandwich. I loved the simplicity of the grilled cod sandwich and their house tartar. I also love battered fries. The family member at the table with the omelet also really enjoyed it. Everyone else thought their dishes were just okay. The crepes were a little rubbery in texture which isn't something we've experienced before. So we land somewhere between it's okay and we liked it. Fun decor and more tables than you would expect!
A gem! Adorable vintage diner-type cafe in the heart of the Historic Bayfront District. You can order off the lunch menu for breakfast, which I did, treating myself to fried oysters. They were phenomenal--among the best I've ever had. Very friendly, helpful service. Highly recommended!
A short review, as we stopped only once. We will certainly return if the opportunty aruses. Their coffee is pour-over, into big#4 filter infusers. Incredible extraction, big but not bitter. Color me very impressed. They make their own bread for toast. The buttermilk biscuits IMO are slightly overworked (bready). I can easily taste, these are the real ingredients. I make these at home, and am a freak about texture. I use my fingertips to spread the dough and fold vs. rolling them. Then again, I'n not in production, snd these are tasty. The Wild Mushroom Omelet is folded. No skimping on the mushrooms here. The omelet is quite fluffy, but holds up to the spinach, mushroom, and light gravy quite well. 'Home fried potatoes' are cubed red skins. If I still ate potatoes, I'm sure there would be
We really enjoyed this restaurant and almost came twice on our weekend trip but decided to try a new place. We ordered the crepes and the western scramble. Both were enjoyable. The western scramble was too much egg to topping ratio. Would love more meat on it. The whip cream on the crepe looks fine in the photo I posted, but it was actually watery. The fruit was yummy. Parking was a little hard to find, but service and atmosphere was nice.
