The Cherry Tree Inn Bed and Breakfast

A charming bed and breakfast with clean rooms, beautiful decorations and wonderful owners. Please consider supporting them if you're planning to stay in the area. We visited during the winter and the place was beautifully decorated in festive lights and Christmas trees. A cult classic movie was filmed here and the owners offer tours to movie fans. The owners also do an excellent job of uplifting their community members and local businesses having recommendations on where to visit. They let my boyfriend play the piano in the common area and they don't have a set curfew, it feels like you're staying in someone's home that is happy to receive you rather than imposing on someone. Charming. Relaxing. Beautiful. The hosts, George (great guy and cool as a cucumber) and Lori (the kindest chatterbox you'll meet) are just wonderful people. They're friendly, welcoming, generous and down to earth. We loved staying with them for a couple of nights at the end of our road trip. The house is absolutely stunning and you can see George and Lori really care for it and are passionate about the standards there. The breakfast is incredible, Lori is a fantastic cook and George's biscuits were amazing too. The sausage gravy is to die for and everything else is just full of flavour, including the coffee! We stayed at the Cherry Tree B&B for our wedding and it was lovely! First and foremost, what a fun location with so much history. The property is well kept and beautiful to spend time on. The Black Walnut room we stayed in had ample space. We appreciated the amenities and that we could spend a beautiful evening on the patio late into the night with friends without a care in the world or a disruption. Breakfast is delicious and it's so nice not to have to cook for myself! We really enjoyed our stay.

We spent 3 peaceful, relaxing and fun nights at The Cherry Tree Inn in Woodstock, Illinois.||First off Mr. Bee is a huge Groundhog Day movie fan, so we decided while in Illinois to stay in this gem of a town.|Lori and George, the Innkeepers are very nice. The Inn is so fun. This is where Bill Murray's character in the movie stayed and the front looks exactly as it did in the movie. Lori gave us a map of the spots in town with marker's of sites from the movie, so we did that for a half day. |The inn has a dining room where breakfast is served, there is the parlor with chairs for reading, or a sofa for watch Groundhog Day on the big screen. The Cherry Tree B&B is charming and delightful. The Inn itself is amazing with lots of historical detail. Rooms are very comfortable, with so many little touches that make your stay exceptional. The brunch was extraordinary. Lori's sauces are phenomenal; I wish I was back in that gorgeous kitchen right now loading up my plate! The location is great; walking distance to the Square and good restaurants for lunch or dinner. We attended a performance at the Opera House. If you are a fan of the movie Groundhog Day, then staying at the Cherry Tree will be a special treat. If you are new to the movie, check it out and make a reservation. I highly recommend it.
