The Cabins at Stockton Lake

The cabin we rented was cute and spacious, but not completely clean when we arrived. The vents were caked with dirt and there was white dog hair on the kitchen floor. Online photos of the property gave us the impression that cabins would be more secluded, but it's within 1/2 mile to a busy thoroughfare. If I chose to take a bath in the jetted tub, our neighboring cabin would've gotten a clear peek at my personal business. There's no window shade, only a valance. It's simply not private or secluded. The roughly $350 we spent for 19 hours (check in at 4, out at 11) was not worth it to me. We had a $90 pet fee, which was fine, but I pay less for a Mountaintop stay in Colorado with lake views than I did here. Staff was friendly and driving to the state park was easy. Second time staying. Easy to book, cabins clean and well equipped. Close to water activities. Trails to hike within walking distance.

The cabins were infested with ants. They knew we had 2 dogs in our reservation. One dog is in heat and the other is injured which is why they came, neither pet was on any furniture. Within 4 minutes of us checking out, we got a call saying there was dog hair on all of the furniture. Which is weird. Because no dog was ON any furniture. We brought our own blankets and pillows.. While we were loading up our car, the cleaning crew was circling us like prey, and it was clear they just wanted us out to call us and charge us for the known dogs that were in the cabin. Absolutely ridiculous they were upset about changing the sheets because there was dog hair on it possibly. My boyfriend didn't protest the call or charge, I decided to leave a review. We were immediately impressed with the cabin as soon as we walked in. We love the rustic decor and relaxation it provided. The bed is more firm than ours at home but still very comfortable. We’re coming back in April with our kids and my boat. It’ll definitely be our weekend getaway from now on. Highly recommended

We rented a cabin that slept 16. The beds were small but comfortable. The cabin was spacious, plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. The cabin needed some repairs/upkeep. The garbage disposal wasn't working, the screen door was beyond worn, etc, just little things that needed attention. Overall comfortable. There is a trail down to the lake but really not suitable for swimming and I'm unsure how you would get a kayak down there, so while close to the lake, it's not lakefront. The community was quiet, property and amenities were all nice. They don't really say much about the clubhouse on their site but it has a putting green, equipment for activities, a nice outdoor seating area and outside fireplace.
