Customer Reviews
We’ve been to The Black Olive three times in the last week and a half — that should tell you everything right there. The food is absolutely delicious every single time. Fresh, flavorful, hot, and consistent. The service is excellent, and even when they’re busy, the staff stays friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean, neat, and has a great atmosphere. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable for the quality and portions you get. If you’re in Kingsport and want great Italian food with outstanding service, The Black Olive is it. We’ll definitely keep coming back.
Overall it was a good experience. This was our first ever visit to a Black Olive Restaurant. They just opened a new location in Kingsport, TN. And this is their first week, which we are taking into consideration. Most of what we ordered was very good. We started with cheese garlic knots and caesar salads. Both of those items were very good. My husband ordered the *Chicken Marsala, it's his favorite Italian dish normally. But he said this time it lacked flavor. He said the chicken was good, but the sauce was flavorless. My daughter and I shared the *Chicken Bowtie Festival, it was good, but I have to say, lacked flavor as well. Had to add a lot of parmesean to help. My oldest son got the *Baked Cheese Tortellini, it was very good, we all liked that dish! My youngest son ate the *Kid's Chees
The food was delicious. Our server Cadence was wonderful. She checked on us often and drinks never were empty. I highly recommend Black Olive.
The food was good, service pretty good as well. They are still getting the kinks worked out since it’s just opened. I didn’t realize the Philly cheese steak has jalapeños on it when I looked at the menu, my fault. But my husband switched plates with me and I ate his lasagna. It didn’t come with garlic bread or anything like that, which I felt like would’ve went well with it. I’d like to try this place again, probably get the pizza next time. Felt like it was a little pricey for the portions and overall experience.
New restaurant. Great food and service. I had the lasagna. Plenty of parking, easily accessible. Not crowded, no waiting to be seated.
