The Biscuit Express

Online ordering is simple. I ordered a smoked sausage egg & cheese biscuit. It was huge compared to chain restaurants. The taste was great, and it was very filling. The tater tots were ok, but the seasoning was kinda salty, so I didnt eat all of those. I will definitely try the rest of the menu when I'm in the area.

We tried The Grid location of Biscuit Express today! Even in the rain, a steady stream of customers kept coming in. Love the concept and the biscuits. We ordered the bologna biscuit, a cheeseburger (they forgot the cheese), a bacon egg and cheese biscuit, and a bacon egg and cheese wrap (again, forgot the cheese!) Enjoyed everything with a fresh coffee and a 'dirty' soda! We hung out in the food hall until the rain stopped.

I work near the Moores Mill location, so I typically hit them up before work. I was surprised and stoked when I saw the food truck at The Grid. I've done a review at the Moores Mill location and updated it several times. So now to my review for this spot. First off the atmosphere and presentation is top notch. No need to say much check out the photos. I came Saturday morning around 7:15am not knowing how busy it will be. Moores Mill usually be crunk so I wasn't sure what to expect. It wasn't busy at all but I have seen it with a line driving by. The workers were perky and polite. I even chatted with one before my order. Mind you I was the only person in line. I’ve been going to Biscuit Express for years and this new location 5 times so far. The first 2 times it was great, but the last 3 times the biscuit sandwich was consistently pretty dang cold and unpleasant. The cheese still rock hard and unmelted. Not sure if their microwave broke, but it’s an easy problem to fix. I’m not really sure what they’re thinking, but this will hurt them if they don’t resolve it.

This is a food trailer permanently parked at "The Grid," which is a mostly gravel lot in the Big Cove area that features a pavilion for farmer's markets, two food trailers, and a few other sights. The Biscuit Express also exists as at least one (maybe two?) drive through restaurants, which predated this trailer. The one I'm thinking of is more out Moore's Mill way. There are picnic tables and a small shaded boxcar if you want to stay and eat, but I got my order to go. I visited a few weekends ago to get a brunch treat for me and my husband after I had an early work shift. I've always wanted to try the Moore's Mill location but am not usually in that area until it's too late in the afternoon and the business has closed. The menu has breakfast and lunch options.
